The requirement for language skills in our society is increasing in step with internationalisation. Sweden’s membership in the European Union has led to increased international contacts, not only for industry, but also for the public sector.
It
has become increasingly important to be able to convey and argue one’s
views in a dialogue with colleagues from other countries. It is also
important to be able to fully understand written communication in
English.
Access to English offers training for politicians and officials that work, or will be working, with international issues with English as the working language.
Such work may involve professional contacts both at home and abroad.
At home, this could
include hosting international visits to Sweden, or drafting EU project
applications.
Within the European
Union, this could mean participating in various projects or study
visits.
In the rest of Europe and
the world there is often international collaboration within various
fields and areas of responsibility, where the Swedish public sector can
both contribute and gain knowledge and experience.
Access to English has chosen to focus exclusively on the public sector, and is the only company in Sweden working solely with this target group.
